MOSCOW, Nov 16 (PRIME) -- Germany’s BMW will decide on construction of a Russian plant in January–June 2018, BMW Group Russia CEO Maximilian Kellner told reporters on Thursday.
“There has been no news so far. We continue negotiations with the Kaliningrad government, and we are advancing in them. But we have not made a decision so far. We are discussing signing of a special investment contract with the regional and federal governments, but we have not agreed on whether we would file a request to sign it. We will decide in 2018, probably in the first half of the year,” he said.
BMW may have to invest more than 50 million euros in the plant, he said, adding that the company will build a production line at the site of Kaliningrad Region’s carmaker Avtotor.
